EvangelismAs a church we strongly believe that we exist to share the goodness of God seen through the loving acts of Christ with others around us. We are community of evangelists, which means we are saved by believing in the good news of our forgiveness therefore we strive to share that good news with others. We believe that evangelism is loving people of all class, color, race and nationality into the kingdom of God. The only trademark we claim to have is the love we have for God, for each other and for others. We want to be known by love. Our evangelism team is in charge of all kinds of activities related to reaching out. Currently Ms. Celine Parris is chairing the evangelism ministry team. |
Worship & Music Worship is a ministry that works on organizing worship services, using all kinds of creative gifts at its disposal. Out liturgical flow, hymnal selections, service organizations and musical nature is organized and orchestrated by this ministry team. In addition to these this ministry deals with training and deploying ushers, assisting ministers, acolytes, the senior and the children’s choir, the scripture readers and altar guilds. Currently Dr. Alcuine Johnson chairs this ministry team. |
Soul Care This is a ministry section that strives to care for the wholistic well being of the whole congregation. This ministry puts all visitations, counseling sessions, intercessory prayer meetings, family well-being, relational health, family well being and deals with all the other personal and corporal needs. Most events are planned and led by this team. Currently Ms. Megan Andrews is chairing this ministry team. |

Youth Our church gives a strong emphasis to youth ministry believing the fact that youth ministry is a ministry done today to shape the future of the church and the world. Therefore our church strives to support and encourage this ministry in anyway possible. Currently our youth are nurtured in Sunday School classes for all ages; Youth Bible Study-Bi-monthly Friday night hang, confirmation academy running along with other congregations in the city, Holy Hip Hop, a Saturday night outreach and entertainment ministry, SSMAC, St. Stephen’s multi-artistic children, summer camps and other educational activities. Ms. Roxann Thompson, Youth Director, and Ms. Karen Webster is the congregational director for the confirmation academy. |
Service As Christians we believe that God cares about the wholistic well being of humanity therefore we strive to reach people in everyway possible. Our Christian service team is working with organizing marches on hunger, health issues and issues concerning society at large. It is also running a food bank where the hungry can collect things to eat, and clothing as well. It is also a team that deals with need based problems caused by joblessness, homelessness, neglect, abuse and problems of similar nature. Currently Ms. Beverly pilgrim is chairing this team. |
Spiritual Growth This is a ministry section that deals with the overall educational ministry of the church. As a church we strongly believe in educating our members with the basics of Christian faith and living. Educational takes place in different formats and setting at different times and on different topics. Every Wednesday is dedicated to practical Christian life classes, on Sunday morning before worship there are four classes of children’s Sunday school classes in addition to that Christian spirituality class is offered for adults. On Tuesday night series of teaching is being given on covenant prayer discipline. During the summer our educational ministry is planning to continue strongly. Currently Dr. Mica Inge chairs the Educational ministry team. |

Women of God This is a ministry team that works to address especial needs and contributions of women in and outside of the church. It is also serving as a liaison with the women’s synodical, and national organization. As a ministry it is being highly effective in supporting congregational events such as the ministry convention, organizing the mother’s day, supplying breakfast for Sunday morning learning sessions and organizing trips and seminars for women in relation to the other congregations. Currently Ms. Nikki Magee is running that ministry. |
